Lorry driver admits causing death of car driver in roadworks area of M1 in Northamptonshire
Michael Spencer, aged 52, was travelling through the roadworks area near junction 16 of the motorway when he failed to spot a vehicle had stopped and put its hazard lights on.
Lynsey Knott, prosecuting, said Romas Raguckas suffered a fatal head injury after his vehicle was shunted from behind and pushed down an embankment.

Hide AdThe court heard that Mr Raguckas had stopped because he had run out of petrol. There was no hard shoulder on the carriageway in the roadworks area.
Northampton Crown Court heard it was about 4am on December 16, 2014 when the crash happened.
The case was adjourned for a probation report to be prepared ahead of a sentencing hearing.
Spencer, of Windsor Avenue, Crewe, was remanded in custody.
His Honour Judge Rupert Mayo said there was an “overwhelming” likelihood he would given an immediate custodial sentence.
