Interesting coincidence links Leamington man to authors' war book
While carrying out research for their recently published book Where are the Boys, Andrew, of Walton near Wellesbourne, and Alan, who is a historian from Warwick, discovered an extraordinary memorial album in the York and Lancaster Regimental Museum in Rotherham compiled by Emil Perkin about the short life of his 22-year-old son Kenneth who was killed during the 12/ York and Lancasters’ attack on July 1 1916.
Following an article in a national newspaper about their chapter on Perkin, they were amazed to be contacted by Kenneth’s great nephew Colin Perkin who lives in Leamington.
