Leamington eye care team donate specs to charity’s Africa project
Eye care specialist Space Healthcare, which is based in Clarendon Avenue, has been taking donations of unused spectacles as part of international development charity Vision Aid Overseas’ Spectacles for Africa programme.
Now the clinic, which performs laser eye surgery, cataract treatment and corneal implants, has received more than 250 pairs of glasses for the cause.

“These unwanted spectacles mount up very quickly, so we’re happy to be able to donate them to Vision Aid Overseas, who in turn exchange them for funds which will help provide long-term eye care for patients across Africa.”
Andy Holliday, the charity’s director of fundraising and communications, said: “Space Healthcare’s hard work on our behalf helps us to transform the lives of people in some of the world’s poorest countries.”
