Postponed bridge closures on Kenilworth road will happen in December
The bridges over the Greenway and the railway tracks were supposed to shut from Monday November 12 to Monday December 10 due to ‘emergency works’ being needed to divert a gas pipe.
But contractors Galliford Try sent a letter out to nearby residents on Friday November 9 telling them the work would be postponed until further notice due to complaints over the disruption and the planned diversion down Albion Street.

Instead of Albion Street, drivers will be diverted down Dalehouse Lane, Stoneleigh Road and the Coventry Road.
The works are also taking less time to complete - three weeks instead of four.
Gerry Rutter, who runs interior design company Leisure Concepts on the Common Lane industrial estate, welcomed the shorter time for the works to be completed, but said the work should have taken place during the Christmas holidays.

Common Lane has had temporary traffic lights on it to allow the building of an access route to a new 93-home development on the ‘Crackley Triangle’.
