Brace of county victories for Mackay
Mackay enjoyed two excellent rounds of 69 and 75 which ensured he finished one shot clear of his two nearest rivals, Adam Lumley and Louie Pett from Coventry Golf Club.
In the team competition, Kenilworth’s trio of Mackay, Daniel Lane and Luke Northwood finished runners-up, just three shots adrift of Copt Heath Golf Club’s aggregate score.

Hide AdMackay will try and make it a clean sweep when he returns to the Welcombe to compete in the Warwickshire Boys’ Matchplay Championship this week.
Richard Keegan enjoyed success in the August Medal at Kenilworth Golf Club on Saturday.
Keegan carded 72, nett 67, to win the A Division from Ben Hammond (71, nett 68) although the latter did have the satisfaction of picking up the prize for the best gross score.
Countback was needed to settle the B Division, with Kirk Johnson (78, nett 67) edging out Barry Lemel (80, nett 67) by virtue of a better back nine.

Hide AdBen Graburn (83, nett 67) finished top of the C Division from Mark Wright (85, nett 69) and also lifted the Stanley Dunn Cup for the best nett score.
Meanwhile, a father and son pairing from the home club won the Men’s Open Alliance at Crewe Lane on Sunday.
Charles and James Leggitt emerged triumphant with nett 64, one shot clear of Richard Storer and Glenn Miller (Ullesthorpe Court), with Julian Zivelonghi (Hearsall) and Bob Tyler (Nuneaton) a further shot back in third.
David Heffernan (Kenilworth) and Steve Byrne (Australia) finished fourth by virtue of a better back nine than Scott Humphries and Andrew Humphries (Bloxwich), Mark Yarham and Doug Watterson (Burghley Park) and M Mabbutt (The Warwickshire) and B Wilkinson (Hinckley) after all four pairs carded nett 67.

Hide AdJohn Chambers (Kenilworth) and Ian Stranks (The Warwickshire) recorded the best gross score of 70.
Chris Dougill claimed the Stoneleigh Deer Park Championship for the fifth time with a four-shot win over Luke Brown.
Scratch golfer Dougill shot a 68 to follow up a first-round 71, with Brown (6) having the consolation of the best nett prize after carding a 73 and a 70.
Both players have come up through the junior section under the tutelage of Matt McGuire.
