Rampaging Bisons kill off Bears' championship dream
A 54-13 defeat to Bristol Bisons in the second game of their weekend double-header signalled the end of their title challenge but coach Tom Masterson was delighted with how they acquitted themselves in their debut season.
“The ladies have done fantastically this season for their first time playing in the women’s league,” said Masterson.

“With a few more players we will have a great side.
“We need to actively go and find some new players to add to our team, plus keep improving over the summer and come back bigger and stronger and try and win it next year.”
Thirteen points from Sharleen Honey helped Bears to a hard-fought 31-23 success over Angels of the North 3 on Saturday.
However, Sunday’s encounter with Bisons proved a game too far.
